Emergency Services

Crawford Memorial Hospital's Emergency Room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with both physician and nursing coverage. The nearly 13,000 square foot ER has 9 private treatment rooms and a state-of-the-art trauma room that surrounds a central nurses station.

We have 12 Registered Nurses that are all trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Communication Registered Nurse (ECRN). All are certified in Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS).

Our focus is always on making sure the care we deliver is patient centered to make sure patients receive high quality, cost-effective healthcare.  CMH is proud to have case management staff, who work side by side with all disciplines of the healthcare team, patients, families, caregivers, insurance companies, and the community to assist with identifying resources and developing a high quality, cost effective care plan. These staff help to coordinate care, working with healthcare providers to ensure patients are receiving care in the most appropriate setting, and serve as advocates for patients and their families to help them transition smoothly through the complex healthcare system.

Crawford Memorial Hospital is proud to expand their partnership with Carle Foundation Hospital by providing Crawford County residents with Carle’s Emergency Medicine Service Physicians. Carle is recognized among the top 5% in the nation for emergency medicine services.

Crawford Memorial Hospital’s mission of providing exceptional service and patient care is enhanced by integrating the expertise of Carle’s dedicated and professional physicians, augmenting the already excellent clinical care delivered at our hospital.

The Emergency Services staff sees over 9,000 patients each year.   If you have an emergency, please call 911.
