HOSPITAL LIST OF CHARGES - PRICE TRANSPARENCY
Crawford Memorial Hospital is committed to price transparency and has posted this list of charges for inpatient and outpatient services (chargemaster). However, it is likely not a helpful tool for a patient to know what their financial obligation will be or to shop between hospitals. For more information about the charge for your care and to obtain an estimate, please contact our patient financial services staff at (618) 546-2568.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a final rule that requires hospitals to post their standard charges effective January 1, 2019 in a machine readable format on the internet and update it at least annually. That detailed listing of charges can be found at the following link.

Crawford Memorial Hospital is also providing an easier format for its patients. That detailed listing of charges can be found at the following link.
If your care at Crawford Memorial Hospital is planned in advance, you should take the opportunity to look over your health care insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or other assistance coverage. Please call your insurance company to make sure that your services will be covered and to get approval for any procedures that require pre-certification.
Understanding what portion of the costs will be your responsibility can help you and your family plan effectively for the cost of your care. Most insurance plans do not cover 100% of your hospital stay or other visits. Co-payments and deductibles may be due at time of service. If you are unable to pay a large balance due, you may make arrangements for installment payments by calling the financial counselors at 618-546-2568.
If you have no insurance, you may be asked to pay a deposit for elective services upon admission. For those uninsured patients that are ineligible for financial assistance, CMH offers an uninsured discount and a prompt payment discount.
