Interpreters and Communications Aids
At Crawford Memorial Hospital we strive to accommodate the needs of our patients, especially their right to communicate with our staff and to understand what is happening to them. We have tools and resources available at no cost to assist in effective communication for those who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, speak another language, or those that cannot read. If you or a loved one have a communication need or if something needs to be explained in a different way, please let one of our staff know, or contact 544-3131.
Deaf & Language Services
Crawford Memorial Hospital offers Service Cards that are available in different languages to serve as quick references to assist with Non-English translations. The staff at CMH may contact SpectraCorp (Language Line Services) or Interpreters for the Deaf (State of Illinois) for access to an interpreter to accurately interpret the nuances of language and culture at no cost to the patient. For more information, please call 544-3131.
